I guess the most exciting thing, at least for Audrey, is that she got her paci this week. I like to hold off as long as possible, mainly because until they can keep it in their mouth, the paci is quite annoying for mommy. I have discovered that she really likes to suck on it during the day and I am trying not to use it at night. But while I was up last night from 11 pm – 2:30 am I was wishing she knew how to just hold it in herself. She picked that time to be awake instead any of the other 21 hours of that day. I sure hope she does not repeat that behavior tonight.
I think that my winter is going to be long and cold. The last few days it has been too cold for us to go anywhere and really too cold to let Megan play outside … ok, maybe just too cold for me to stand out there. I feel like I have been house-bound for too long and just need to run an errand to Hobby Lobby or go meet Daddy for lunch or something. But I feel that maybe we have gotten over the 1st week hump. No matter how many kids you have, the first week is always hard. Learning to cope without sleep, learning to manage other kids, learning to feed – it is always something. Audrey is finally over her jaudice and actually gained back up to her birth weight already. And I am already at my pre-pregnancy weight too…. hahaha!
She looks wonderful and the other two look happy. You are an amazing mom and so full of love for your children. Wish I was there to hold her and laugh and cuddle.
Ha Ha! You look beautiful!
She is so cute!! I can’t believe how different she looks already! Amazing how fast they change. Hang in there and take good naps. Wish I was there to help!~ love you.
You should have called me b/c I was up around that time too. Not with a one week old, but with my FIVE month old! What’s wrong with my children? Why do they hate sleep?
Audrey is just beautiful…can’t wait to meet her!
You are doing awesome Julie! It’s good to see your mom in the pictures as well. The girls are all so proud of their new little sister, you can see it in their faces. I hope you get some warmer days, so that playing outside is an option.
Audrey is a beautiful baby! Glad you all are settling in and getting used each other. When Mylie was tiny, in the wee hours of the morning, David and I would discuss why no one had invented a contraption that would keep the pacifier in the baby’s mouth…safely, of course. Enjoy your new girl.
Well, I’m a little behind on my congratulations but CONGRATS and we are so thrilled to see such a beautiful precious little girl added to your already beautiful family! I just loved the picture of her hair; she’s almost ready for bows!! Hearing you write about the first week brings back a lot of memories and no, those adjustments never come easily. I’m SO impressed that you’re posting and taking pictures; I didn’t know which end was up the first week!
Yay one week! I love milestones! I wish I was there to help, too, I’d take any shift – even the 11-2:30 one. I am sure you will have an opportunity to get out of the house (or to get Megan out!) if you wish during our visit. Hopefully you won’t all go stir crazy before then. Can’t wait to see you all! Happy Thanksgiving!
